Bidder's Bash Wrap Up & Photos

On Friday October 24th, over 150 people gathered at the Franklin Inn, Bad Axe, to support the Huron County Community Foundation's 5th Annual Bidder's Bash, sponsored by corporate sponsor ITC Transmission and major sponsors DTE, Northstar Bank and RES. The Bidder's Bash was an evening of food, drinks, raffles, and auctions, both live and silent, with all proceeds going directly to the administration and operation of the Huron County Community Foundation.

The Foundation's Executive Director, Mackenzie Price, summarized the night. "The Bidder's Bash is a way to bring together community stakeholders, have some fun, and support the Foundation's administrative budget so we can continue to help improve the quality of life in Huron County. Everyone who attended or donated items helped the Foundation meet our goal, and we sincerely thank them for their support." The Foundation continues to put time and resources into supporting community projects and initiatives. They showcased this large function of the Foundation at their event through letting some Bidder's Bash attendees do grantmaking.

Throughout the night, the Trustees and Executive Director of the Foundation peppered the audience with trivia regarding the Foundation. The team that answered the most questions correctly engaged in impromptu grant making, receiving descriptions of three local projects vying for a $500 grant. At the end of the night, it was announced that the Dennis M. Hagen Show Arena, currently under construction at the Huron County Fairgrounds, was the project chosen by the winning team.
